LIQFITS: Seat

The seat is lasercut from one piece of aluminumsheet, thickness of 4 mm or 1/8 inch. The two sidestrips are 8 mm or 0.3 inch thick aluminum. To improve air-circulation to the riders back and to save weight, I made this design. The design was recreated in CAD-software and then delivered to the company who did the lasercutting.

The seat is 900 mm by 250 mm / 35.4 inch by 9.8 inch. This is large enough to fit a Ventisit seat pad called Optima 91x27. Because the bike doesn't have any suspension I choose the comfort-version of the seat pad.
The sidestrips have a few small slits cut into them, the purpose is that they can be used to attach some bagagebags to the seat. The seat-construction is rigid enough to handle the extra load. It is even possible to attach a custum-made bagagecarrier. This carrier has not been made so far.
